The SuperPro 12725 is a round run capacitor rated 50 MFD at 370 volts. It is the replacement for a pool pump motor that uses a capacitor of that value.
What a run capacitor does
Single phase motors need a phase shifted current to get turning and to keep turning efficiently. The run capacitor provides it, and unlike a start capacitor it stays in the circuit the whole time the motor is running. When it weakens or fails, the motor draws more current, runs hot, or sits there humming without turning at all.
Matching the replacement
Go by the rating printed on the capacitor you are removing, not by the pump model. This one is 50 MFD at 370V in a round can. If yours reads a different capacitance, or is oval rather than round, it is a different part. Capacitors hold a charge after power is off, so discharge the old one before handling it.
