Threaded shaft, and why it matters

Max-Flo XL and Max-Flo II pumps use an impeller that screws straight onto the motor shaft. A motor with a keyed or square shaft will physically bolt to the seal plate and still be useless, because the impeller has nothing to thread onto. Check the shaft type before anything else.

Full rated

Full rated means the horsepower on the label is what the motor produces, without the service factor arithmetic that up rated motors rely on. Match full rated to full rated when replacing.
