Product details

The Hayward SPX1515Z1E is the 1.5 HP replacement motor, complete with switch, for the Power-Flo Matrix SP1590 series pump. It is the genuine Hayward part.

When a motor is done

Pool motors rarely fail quietly. Bearings get loud months before the end, and then the motor hums without turning, trips the breaker, or cuts out once it warms up. At that point the wet end of the pump is usually fine, which is why a motor swap is the standard repair rather than a whole new pump.

What to order with it

Fit a new shaft seal at the same time. The seal has to come off to separate the motor from the pump, it is a low cost part, and an old seal on a new motor will find its way back to you as a leak. The switch is already included with this motor, so no extra control parts are needed.
