12 x 24 ft Inground Pool Winter Covers

A 12 x 24 ft inground pool takes a 17 x 29 ft or 18 x 30 ft cover. The extra is the overlap, 2.5 or 3 ft on every side, and it laps onto the deck where the water tubes hold it down. Every cover on this page is listed by the pool it fits, and the covers cut for a larger pool that still work here are under Also fits.

Inground winter cover questions

What size winter cover fits a 12 x 24 ft inground pool?

A 17 x 29 ft cover on the standard plus 5 ft cut, or an 18 x 30 ft cover from the Cool Covers King line, which is cut plus 6 ft. The first leaves 2.5 ft of overlap a side, the second 3 ft.

What is the difference between the 17 x 29 and the 18 x 30 cover?

Six inches more overlap on every side. Both are made for a 12 x 24 ft pool. The 18 x 30 ft King gives the water tubes more deck to sit on, and it takes the same number of tubes.

How many water tubes does a 12 x 24 ft pool need?

12 tubes of 8 ft, or 10 of 10 ft. The 17 x 29 ft cover has a 92 ft edge, and the tubes go end to end around it, out on the deck rather than on the water.

Can I use a cover cut for a larger pool?

Yes, while every side keeps 2.5 to 5 ft of overlap. A 19 x 33 ft cover leaves 3.5 ft on the sides and 4.5 ft on the ends. A 21 x 29 ft cover leaves 4.5 ft on the sides and 2.5 ft on the ends. Both are under Also fits.

How full do I fill the water tubes?

Two thirds to three quarters, never all the way. Water expands as it freezes and a full tube splits. Put each tube on the cover before you fill it.
