30 x 50 ft Inground Pool Winter Covers

A 30 x 50 ft inground pool takes a 35 x 55 ft or 36 x 56 ft cover. The extra is the overlap, 2.5 or 3 ft on every side, and it laps onto the deck where the water tubes hold it down. Every cover on this page is listed by the pool it fits, and the covers cut for a larger pool that still work here are under Also fits.

These are cut for a larger pool but still work here. Each card shows the overlap it leaves on the sides and on the ends, so you can check it against your deck.

Inground winter cover questions

What size winter cover fits a 30 x 50 ft inground pool?

A 35 x 55 ft cover, or a 36 x 56 ft from the Cool Covers King line. Plus 5 ft leaves 2.5 ft of overlap on every side; plus 6 ft leaves 3 ft.

How many water tubes does a 30 x 50 ft pool need?

23 tubes of 8 ft, or 18 of 10 ft. The 35 x 55 ft cover is 180 ft around, and the tubes lie end to end along it, out on the deck.

Which larger cover also fits a 30 x 50 ft pool?

A 35 x 60 ft cover, cut for a 30 x 55 ft pool. On a 30 x 50 ft pool it leaves 2.5 ft on the sides and 5 ft on the ends, so it is inside the rule and it is listed under Also fits.

Solid or mesh at this size?

Both. A solid cover blocks light, so the water opens cleaner, and a cover pump takes the rain and snowmelt off. A mesh cover drains into the pool by itself, which matters more the bigger the cover gets, and leaves more cleaning in spring.

Why not drain the pool instead of covering it?

Never drain an inground pool. The water in it is what holds the shell down against the groundwater outside. The level drops a little for winter, and the cover's overlap is cut to reach it.
