Quick overview
- Liquid DPD Uses liquid DPD reagents rather than tablets or strips, which is what makes the chlorine reading precise.
- High range chlorine and bromine Reads sanitizer above the ceiling of a strip or a low range kit, which matters after shocking.
- Six tests in one case Alkalinity, bromine and chlorine at high range, DPD, cyanuric acid, hardness and pH.
- Service complete The version service techs carry, supplied with .75 oz reagent bottles.
- Balance, not just sanitizer pH, alkalinity and hardness are in the same kit, so the whole picture is read at once.
- Taylor reagents Refills are stocked individually, so a depleted bottle does not mean a new kit.

Product details
The Taylor K-2005 is the complete DPD test kit for pools and spas, supplied in the service complete high range configuration with .75 oz reagents. It covers alkalinity, bromine and chlorine at high range, DPD, cyanuric acid, hardness and pH.
Why liquid DPD
Strips give a rough answer fast. A liquid DPD kit gives a reading you can act on. The reagent produces a color that is matched against a comparator, so small differences in sanitizer level are visible instead of being rounded into the nearest band on a pad. The high range chemistry keeps working when the chlorine level is well above normal, which is exactly when a strip stops being useful.
The full picture
Sanitizer alone does not tell you whether a pool is balanced. This kit also reads pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness and cyanuric acid, which are the numbers that decide whether the chlorine you are adding will actually work and whether the water is going to scale or etch.
Keeping it stocked
Reagents are consumable and have a shelf life. Taylor sells each bottle on its own, so the kit stays in service for years and only the reagents are replaced.
