This is the genuine Jandy R0487300 lid for the JS60-SM and JS100-SM sand filters.
What it does
The lid closes the top of the filter tank and holds system pressure every time the pump runs. It also has to come off cleanly whenever the filter needs opening. Years of sun, chlorine and pressure cycling craze the plastic, and once the sealing face is no longer flat the filter weeps or the lid refuses to hold at all.
Fitting it
Shut the pump down and release all pressure at the air relief before opening the filter. Compare the old lid with this one, and while the tank is open take the chance to inspect the seal and the sealing groove. A new lid on a tired o-ring will still leak.
