Product details

The Jandy R0745800 is the o-ring that seals the top mount multiport valve to the tank on Pro Series SFTM sand filters. It fits the 22 in. SFTM22-1.5 and the 24 in. SFTM24-2.0.

When it needs replacing

The joint between valve and tank runs under pump pressure all day and sees a pressure swing every backwash. When the o-ring hardens or picks up a nick, water starts weeping from under the clamp. It should also be replaced any time the valve is lifted off the tank, for example when changing sand, because a used o-ring rarely reseals as well the second time.

Installing

Clean the tank neck and the valve flange, fit the o-ring with a light film of silicone based lubricant, set the valve back on and tighten the clamp evenly. Keep petroleum products away from the rubber.

Where does it go?
Between the multiport valve and the tank, under the filter clamp.
When should I replace it?
Whenever water weeps at the valve to tank joint, and whenever you remove the valve to change sand. A fresh o-ring is cheap insurance against a leak after reassembly.
Should I lubricate it?
A thin film of silicone based o-ring lubricant helps it seat evenly. Do not use petroleum products on it.
