Jandy Valve Tank O-Ring

The Jandy R0745800 is the o-ring that seals the top mount multiport valve to the tank on Pro Series SFTM sand filters. It fits the 22 in. SFTM22-1.5 and the 24 in. SFTM24-2.0.

When it needs replacing

The joint between valve and tank runs under pump pressure all day and sees a pressure swing every backwash. When the o-ring hardens or picks up a nick, water starts weeping from under the clamp. It should also be replaced any time the valve is lifted off the tank, for example when changing sand, because a used o-ring rarely reseals as well the second time.

Installing

Clean the tank neck and the valve flange, fit the o-ring with a light film of silicone based lubricant, set the valve back on and tighten the clamp evenly. Keep petroleum products away from the rubber.
