The J&J Electronics ColorSplash VU RGB-W is a nicheless 1.5 inch LED light for pools and spas. This is the 12V, 8W fixture with a 150 foot cord, model LPL-R1CW-12-150, J&J part 25011.

Nicheless installation

The fixture threads into a standard 1.5 inch female threaded return fitting and mounts flush. There is no niche to set into the wall and no bonding to run, which is what makes it practical to add light to a pool that was never plumbed for it. It can sit on the floor or on the wall.

What it lights

At this size it is an accent light rather than a main pool light: steps, swim outs, water spillovers and spa corners are the usual places for it. The RGB-W version adds a PureWhite output to the color range and light shows, so the same fixture can do plain white when nobody wants the show.
