The Paragon Aquatics MV250-02 is the Stark multi-port valve actuator for a two tank system. It is the powered head that mounts to the multi-port valve and drives it between positions.
What it does
On a Stark multi-port assembly the actuator replaces the hand lever. It turns the valve to filter, backwash, rinse and the other positions the system calls for, which is what makes an automated backwash sequence possible on a multi tank filter bank.
When to replace it
Actuators fail while the valve body is still perfectly good. If the valve turns freely by hand but the head will not drive it, will not hold a position, or stalls part way through a cycle, the actuator is what needs replacing. Confirm your tank count and valve model before ordering, since actuators are specific to the assembly they were built for.
