The Hayward IDXL2ICB1931 is the integrated control board for H-Series Low NOx pool heaters, models H250IDL2, H350IDL2 and H400IDL2, built after 09/2004. It is the genuine Hayward replacement.
What it does
Hayward consolidated several jobs onto one board on these heaters. It manages ignition, regulates temperature and runs the diagnostic monitoring that reports faults back to the display. One assembly, several functions, which makes installation simple and makes the board central to whether the heater runs at all.
Check the build date
The date qualifier on this listing is not decoration. Hayward revised the control on the H-Series, and this board is the version for units built after 09/2004. The build date is on the rating plate. A heater older than that takes a different board, and the two are not interchangeable.
Before you swap it
A failing control board can imitate almost any other fault, so almost any other fault gets blamed on the board. Before ordering, confirm gas supply, the igniter, the sensors and the grounding are all healthy. If one of those is the true fault, a new board will fail the same way the old one did.
