The Pentair 520946Z is the MobileTouch transceiver, a circuit board with the antenna attached, for EasyTouch and IntelliTouch pool and spa automatic control systems. It is the genuine Pentair part.

What the transceiver does

MobileTouch is a wireless handheld controller. The handheld does not talk to the pool equipment directly; it talks to this transceiver, which is wired into the control system and passes commands through. When the transceiver fails, the whole wireless side of the system goes quiet even though the panel itself still runs the pool normally.

Diagnosing before you order

A handheld that will not connect has more than one possible cause. A tired battery pack or a charging cradle that has stopped charging produces the same symptom from the deck, and both are separate Pentair parts. Confirm the handheld powers up and holds a charge before replacing the transceiver.
