The Pentair 520198 is the two-speed relay for IntelliTouch and EasyTouch control systems, rated to support a two-speed pump up to 3HP. It is the genuine Pentair part.
What it adds
A two-speed pump has a high winding and a low winding, and something has to choose between them. Without this relay in the automation panel, the control system can turn the pump on and off but cannot change its speed. With the relay fitted, low speed filtering, high speed for cleaning or spa jets, and any schedule that mixes the two all become things the panel handles on its own.
Installation
The relay mounts inside the IntelliTouch or EasyTouch enclosure with the rest of the load center relays and is wired to the pump. Power down the panel before working inside it, and have a qualified technician do the wiring if you are not comfortable with line voltage.
