Pentair 521233 is the genuine transformer assembly for IntelliTouch and EasyTouch control systems. It is supplied as a complete assembly, the same one fitted at the factory.

What the transformer does

Everything on the low voltage side of a Pentair load center runs from this transformer: the control board, the display and the relay coils that switch the pump, the heater and the lights. Line voltage comes into the enclosure, and the transformer steps it down to what the electronics use.

The symptom

A transformer failure usually looks like a completely dead panel. The breaker is on, voltage is present at the load center, and nothing lights up or clicks. Before replacing the board, check the transformer, because a dead board and a dead transformer look identical from the outside and only one of them is the cause.

Work inside a load center means live line voltage. If you are not comfortable testing it, have a pool technician or an electrician do the swap.
