Product details

The PoolRx 332001 is the +Plus booster for the blue and white PoolRx unit, sized for pools from 7.5K to 20K gallons. It carries copper, zinc and silver, supplied as 8 ounces of booster mineral per pool in that range.

What the booster is for

A PoolRx unit puts minerals into the water, but that mineral level does not stay put. Backwashing carries some away, swimmers splash more out, and killing algae consumes the rest. The booster restores what has been lost so the system keeps working the way it did on day one. It is also used at first install on a larger pool that needs more mineral than the unit alone supplies.

How to add it

Clean and backwash the filter and empty the skimmer and pump basket before you start, so the minerals are not caught on debris. Add the booster to the skimmer or pump basket and leave the existing unit where it is. Run the pump for at least three to four hours, ideally through the heat of the day, and aim for the pool to turn its volume over about one and a half times daily, which usually means six to eight hours of run time. Do not re-clean or backwash the filter for two weeks.

Expect to repeat this every 4 to 6 months. Federal law requires the product be used only as its label directs.

Do I take the PoolRx unit out before adding this?
No. Leave the unit in place. The booster minerals go into the skimmer or pump basket and dissolve into the pool water on their own.
How often does the booster need to go in?
Generally every 4 to 6 months, depending on how hard the pool is swum.
What do I do before adding it?
Clean and backwash the filter and clear debris out of the skimmer and pump basket first, so the minerals do not settle on dirt and get backwashed straight out.
Can I backwash after adding it?
Not for at least two weeks. The minerals need that time to dissolve through the filter, whether it is cartridge, D.E. or sand.
