What the booster is for
A PoolRx unit puts minerals into the water, but that mineral level does not stay put. Backwashing carries some away, swimmers splash more out, and killing algae consumes the rest. The booster restores what has been lost so the system keeps working the way it did on day one. It is also used at first install on a larger pool that needs more mineral than the unit alone supplies.
How to add it
Clean and backwash the filter and empty the skimmer and pump basket before you start, so the minerals are not caught on debris. Add the booster to the skimmer or pump basket and leave the existing unit where it is. Run the pump for at least three to four hours, ideally through the heat of the day, and aim for the pool to turn its volume over about one and a half times daily, which usually means six to eight hours of run time. Do not re-clean or backwash the filter for two weeks.
Expect to repeat this every 4 to 6 months. Federal law requires the product be used only as its label directs.
