The Zodiac R0502400 is the small collar with o-ring for the Nature2 Fusion Soft and Nature2 Fusion inground mineral sanitizer systems. It is the genuine Zodiac part.
What it seals
The collar and its o-ring are what hold the Fusion housing closed and watertight. Both live in warm, chemically treated water and both harden with time. Once the o-ring has taken a permanent set or the collar has gone brittle, the housing weeps no matter how far you tighten it.
When to change it
Replace it the moment you see water at the housing, and as a matter of habit whenever you have the unit open for a cartridge change. It costs very little and saves chasing a slow drip around the equipment pad later.
