The Zodiac X77094 is the hose adaptor used to plumb a leaf catcher into the hose line of a Baracuda MX8 pool cleaner. It is the fitting between the catcher and the cleaner hose, and without it the catcher cannot be connected.
Why run a leaf catcher
A cleaner that swallows every leaf in the pool fills its own path and the pump basket quickly, and suction drops off long before the floor is clean. A leaf catcher set in the hose line takes that load first, so leaves are emptied out of a clear canister instead of working their way through the cleaner.
