This is the genuine Zodiac cassette chamber with compression ring for the Baracuda G3 pool cleaner, part number W70345. The chamber and the ring are supplied together.

What the chamber does

The G3 has no motor. It moves because water drawn through the cleaner flexes a diaphragm inside the cassette chamber, and that pulsing action is what walks the cleaner across the floor and up the walls. The chamber is the housing that holds all of it and seals against the compression ring.

When to replace it

A G3 that has gone slow, stalls in one place, or has lost the steady pulse you can hear and feel through the hose usually has a problem in this area. Cracks in the chamber, a distorted sealing face or a compression ring that no longer holds all bleed off the pulse. The diaphragm is a separate part and wears on a similar schedule, so check it at the same time rather than opening the cleaner twice.
