The X73010 is the genuine Zodiac Baracuda Dura Life diaphragm, the long life version of the diaphragm used in Baracuda suction pool cleaners.

What the diaphragm does

A suction cleaner has almost no moving parts. The diaphragm flexes with the flow through the cleaner and creates the pulse that walks it across the floor and up the walls. Everything the cleaner does depends on that one flexible component, which is why a cleaner that has gone quiet, slowed down or simply parked itself is nearly always a diaphragm problem rather than a pump or hose problem.
