Product details

The Zodiac CLC500 is a cyclonic leaf catcher that goes in line on a suction side pool cleaner hose. Leaves and debris are caught in its own large canister before they ever reach the skimmer or the pump.

Why cyclonic matters

An ordinary canister chokes as it fills, and the cleaner slows with it. The cyclonic design generates a venturi action that keeps water moving through the canister while debris settles, so flow holds up and the cleaner keeps working properly for longer between empties.

Built to be emptied

The top twists off by hand with an easy release lock, the basket has a squeegee design that tips clean, and an automatic drain valve lets the water out as you lift the unit from the pool. There is an ergonomic handle for carrying it, easy connect fittings for the hose, and two adapters in the box for twist lock hoses.

What it saves

Debris that never reaches the pump is debris that is not packing the strainer basket or loading the filter. During leaf season that is the difference between a five minute job at the canister and a full pad cleanup.

What does a leaf catcher actually do for me?
It traps leaves and debris in its own canister before they reach the skimmer or the pool pump, so you empty one basket instead of chasing debris through the whole system.
Does it slow the cleaner down as it fills?
The cyclonic action is there for exactly that reason. It keeps water moving through the canister as debris collects, so the cleaner keeps working longer between empties.
Will it connect to my cleaner hose?
It has easy connect fittings and includes two hose adapters for twist lock hoses.
Is it messy to empty?
No. An automatic drain valve lets the water out as you lift it, the twist lock top comes off by hand, and the squeegee basket tips clean.
