The Zodiac R0526900 is the blue quick connector for the MX8 and MX6 pool cleaners. It is the genuine OEM part.
What it does
The connector is the quick connect point on the cleaner hose. It lets hose sections go together and come apart by hand, which is how the hose length gets set for a given pool.
When to replace it
Connectors are a wear item. Chlorine, sun and constant flexing eventually make the plastic brittle, and the grip that used to click and hold starts letting go. The symptom owners see is a hose section separating mid cycle, or a cleaner that stops covering the far end of the pool because the hose has come apart. Both are cured by a fresh connector.
