Zodiac R0727400 is the R2 chassis assembly for the MX8 automatic pool cleaner. It is the genuine OEM part, supplied as a complete assembly.

MX8 only

This chassis is listed for the MX8. It is not the part for the MX8 Elite, and it is not required on that cleaner.

Read the serial number first

On cleaners whose serial number begins with MX8, replacing the chassis assembly R0525200 or the middle engine housing R0525900 calls for parts R0545700 and R0545600 instead. Check the serial number on your cleaner before ordering so the right generation of parts goes back on.

Why the chassis matters

The chassis is the frame the drive components and covers bolt to. Once it cracks, the cleaner flexes where it should be rigid, tracking goes off, and the parts mounted to it start taking the strain instead.

No. Zodiac lists it for the MX8 only. The Elite is a different cleaner and this chassis is not needed for it.
