What the dial controls
The dial is the only adjustment on the unit. It meters how much sanitizer the system releases into the water moving through it, so it is the setting you reach for when demand climbs in midsummer or drops off in the shoulder season. A dial that is stuck, cracked, or leaking past its seals takes that control away and leaves you guessing why the chlorine reading will not hold.
Seals matter as much as the dial
The O-rings are included for a reason. They sit in constantly moving chlorinated water and harden with age, and a hardened seal is the usual source of a weep at the dial.
