When to replace it
A cracked cap, stripped threads or a lid that weeps around the seal after tightening are the usual reasons. Because the o-ring is included, a worn seal is fixed at the same time. Wipe the tank threads clean, lightly lubricate the new o-ring and thread the cap on hand tight.
