Product details
Pentair R172002 is the drain kit for the model 300-29X automatic chemical feeder. It is the genuine Pentair part.
What it is for
An automatic chemical feeder holds chlorine tablets in a pressurized body plumbed into the return line. The drain is how that body gets emptied, which matters both for routine servicing and for winterizing, when leaving liquid and tablet residue sitting in the feeder does real damage over a cold season. A drain that will not seal or will not open turns a five minute job into a much larger one.
Working on a chlorinator
Isolate and depressurize the feeder before you open it. Tablet residue and the fumes that come off it are corrosive, and they must never be brought into contact with other pool chemicals. Rinse the body out in the open air before handling the internals.
