Product details

The Pentair R172087 is the 10 inch Rainbow extension for 320 and 300 model automatic chlorinators. It threads onto the top of the chlorinator body and raises it, giving the unit room for more chlorine tablets.

Why owners add one

A standard Rainbow body only holds so many tablets, so a busy pool in mid summer can run the chlorinator dry in a matter of days. The extension buys back capacity without replacing the chlorinator, which means fewer trips to the pad and a steadier chlorine feed through the hottest weeks of the season.

Fitting

The extension screws on between the chlorinator body and the existing cap, so the original threaded cap and lid o-ring stay in use on top. Inspect that o-ring while the unit is open, since a tired seal is the usual cause of a chlorinator that leaks or will not hold pressure after service.
