Product details

The Pentair R172008W is the 3 in. threaded white cap for Rainbow chemical feeders. It is listed for the Rainbow 300, 302, 300-19, 300-29, 300-29X, 320 and 322 feeders.

Why caps get replaced

The cap sits in full sun on top of a body full of chemical vapor, which is a hard life for plastic. Over a few seasons the material crazes, the threads wear, and the cap stops pulling down evenly. At that point the feeder leaks or loses pressure and the cap is the part at fault.

What is included

The cap only. The lid o-ring is sold separately, and since it is the other half of the seal, most people change both at once.

Does the o-ring come with it?
No. This listing is the cap alone. The lid o-ring is a separate Pentair Rainbow part and is the usual companion purchase.
Why is it branded Pentair when the feeder says Rainbow?
Rainbow is a Pentair line. The cap is the genuine Pentair part for those Rainbow feeders.
My cap will not seal any more. Is the cap the problem?
Often it is the o-ring rather than the cap, so check both. If the cap itself is crazed, cracked or the threads are damaged, replace it.
