Product details

The Pentair R172240 is the lid o-ring for the Rainbow high capacity automatic feeder. It is the genuine Pentair part, the same ring fitted at the factory.

What it seals

This o-ring sits between the feeder lid and the housing. It is the only thing holding pressure at that joint, so when it hardens, flattens or splits, the feeder weeps at the lid or fails to hold prime. Replacing it is the first move on a feeder that has started leaking up top.

Fitting it

Lubricate the new ring before the lid goes back on so it seats evenly instead of pinching or rolling in the groove. The part is listed for the Rainbow high capacity feeder in the HC-3315, HC-3330 and 3340 group.
