Product details

The Hayward CLX200K is the cover o-ring for the CL200 chlorinator. The source also lists it against the CL220 and CL220BR chlorine feeders, and calls it both a cover o-ring and a lid o-ring for the same part.

Why it fails

An o-ring in a chlorine feeder sits in the harshest chemical environment on the equipment pad. Over time it flattens under the cover, hardens, and eventually splits. The first sign is usually water or gas weeping past the lid, or a cover that suddenly needs far more force to seal.

Fitting it

Clean the groove out before the new o-ring goes in, and use a silicone based o-ring lubricant. That helps it seat evenly and keeps the cover from binding the next time the feeder needs refilling.
