Product details

The Hayward CL220 is an off-line automatic chlorinator that feeds trichlor into the pool every time the pump runs. It holds 9 lb of 3 in. tablets, small tablets or sticks, enough for weeks of chlorination on a larger pool and longer on a smaller one.

Set it with a dial

An integral dial control valve sets how much water flows through the tablet chamber, and with it the chlorination rate. Turn it up when the pool is busy or the weather is hot, turn it down when demand falls, and the feeder holds that rate until you change it.

Off-line, so it fits almost anywhere

Off-line means the unit sits next to the plumbing and connects through feed tubing instead of being cut into the return line. That gives you several connection options and makes it a practical add-on to an existing pad as well as a new build. The body is made to resist corrosion from concentrated chlorine, and maintenance is little more than keeping it filled.

What is the difference between an off-line and an in-line chlorinator?
An in-line unit is cut directly into the return plumbing. An off-line unit like the CL220 sits beside the plumbing and connects with feed tubing, so it can be added to an existing system where there is no room to cut a fitting in.
What tablets does it take?
3 in. trichlor tablets, small trichlor tablets or trichlor sticks. The chamber holds 9 lb.
How do I set the chlorine level?
