Product details

The Pentair Rainbow 300 is an off line chlorinator, part R171016. It holds 3 inch chlorine tablets and releases sanitizer into the circulation system at a controlled rate.

Why off line

An off line feeder is plumbed beside the return line rather than in the middle of it. A small amount of flow is diverted through the chamber, dissolves part of a tablet and carries the chlorine back into the pool. Because the feeder is not carrying full system flow, it can be shut off and opened for a refill without disturbing the rest of the pad.

Steadier chemistry

Hand dosing produces a spike after every treatment and a slow slide until the next one. A tablet feeder smooths that out, which keeps the residual closer to target and takes the daily chemical handling out of the routine.

Service

The lid o-ring and the tube check valve are stocked as separate parts, so the two items most likely to weep after a few seasons can be replaced on their own.
