The Taylor K-2006C is the Service Complete pool water test kit built around FAS-DPD chlorine testing. It covers total alkalinity, free and combined chlorine, cyanuric acid, calcium hardness, and pH with acid and base demand.
Why FAS-DPD
Most chlorine tests ask you to hold a colored sample against a block and decide which shade it matches. FAS-DPD does not. It is a drop count titration: you add drops until the color goes, and the count is your reading. It resolves to 0.2 or 0.5 ppm depending on sample size, and it reports free and combined chlorine separately, which is what you need to know whether the water has a chloramine problem.
The full set of tests
The kit uses the right method for each test rather than one method for everything: blended indicator, FAS-DPD, turbidimetric, EDTA titration and phenol red. The pH test includes acid and base demand, so it tells you how much to add rather than only where you stand.
Service grade
This is the Service Complete build, the version carried on a route. It ships with the Taylor reagents, comparator blocks and sample vials, and each reagent can be reordered on its own as it runs out, so the case stays in use for years.
