Why the two piece design
A conventional escutcheon has to slide down over the top of the rail, which means pulling the ladder out of its anchors to fit it. The Snap-Tite is made in two halves that snap together around the rail in place, so a cracked or missing escutcheon is a five minute job instead of an afternoon.
