The S.R. Smith EP200MC is a Snap-Tite escutcheon in the polished steel finish. It is the deck plate that covers the anchor socket where a pool ladder, handrail or game post enters the deck.

Why the two piece design

A conventional escutcheon has to slide down over the top of the rail, which means pulling the ladder out of its anchors to fit it. The Snap-Tite is made in two halves that snap together around the rail in place, so a cracked or missing escutcheon is a five minute job instead of an afternoon.

Sizing

It suits 1.9 inch diameter rails, the size most pool ladders and handrails use. The escutcheon measures 5-1/8 inches across the outside, 2 inches on the inside and 15/16 of an inch tall. S.R. Smith recommends it for rails and for game applications. Note that the listing describes this part both as polished steel and as high-density plastic construction, so check which finish you are matching on the deck before ordering.

Do I have to remove the ladder to fit it?

No. That is the point of the Snap-Tite design. It is two pieces that snap together around the rail, so the ladder or handrail stays anchored.

What rail size does it fit?

Rails of 1.9 inch diameter. Its own inside diameter is 2 inches and the outside diameter is 5-1/8 inches.

Is it metal or plastic?
