Product details

The S.R. Smith A42073-0 is the white HIP replacement tread for residential pool ladders. HIP is molded high impact plastic, the material S.R. Smith uses for its white treads.

Size

The tread is 3 inches wide and 17 1/4 inches long measured at the centerline. Measure an existing step before ordering, because ladder treads across brands look alike and are not interchangeable.

When to replace

Treads take sun, chemicals and every foot that climbs out of the pool. A step that flexes underfoot, shows stress cracks around the bolt holes or has chalked and gone brittle should come off the ladder. The matching one step bolt pack is sold separately and is worth fitting at the same time if the old hardware is corroded.
