Product details

The Coverstar A0126 is the torque limiter for the CS1800 and CS3000 electric pool cover motors, supplied complete with its housing.

What it is for

An automatic cover can meet resistance at any point in its travel: ice, a leaf jam in the track, a rope that has wandered off the reel. The torque limiter sits in the drive line as the intended weak point. When load rises beyond its set point it slips, so the shock is absorbed there rather than by the motor or the cover mechanism.

Before and after fitting

A limiter that has given up is usually reporting a problem somewhere else. Work the cover by hand, look for binding in the tracks and at the reel, and clear whatever caused the load before the new limiter goes in, or it will see the same treatment.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which motors does this fit?
Coverstar lists A0126 for the CS1800 and CS3000 electric motor.
Does it include the housing?
Yes. This part is the torque limiter together with its housing.
What does a torque limiter do?
It sits between the motor and the cover drive and slips once load climbs past its set point, so a jam is absorbed there instead of by the motor or the cover mechanism.
My cover keeps stalling. Is this the part?
It can be, but a limiter usually gives because something else is binding. Check the tracks, ropes and reel for a jam before and after fitting a new one.
