The Jandy R0462900 is the bottom housing assembly for Jandy Pro Series CS Series cartridge filters, covering the CS100, CS150, CS200 and CS250 on both pool and spa installations.

What it is

The lower half of the filter tank, supplied as a complete assembly. The cartridge element sits down into it and the top housing clamps over it.

When you need one

A bottom housing gets replaced when the tank itself has failed rather than a seal. A crack in the shell, a split around a plumbing fitting, or a sealing surface distorted enough that fresh o-rings still weep are all reasons the housing has to go rather than be patched.

Fitting notes

One bottom housing serves all four CS models, so the part number is the same whether you run a CS100 or a CS250. The top housings are not shared in the same way: the CS100 and CS150 use a different top from the CS200 and CS250. Replace the tank o-ring while the filter is open, since a used o-ring seldom seats cleanly against a new housing.

Is this the complete filter?
No. It is the bottom housing assembly only. The top housing, the tank o-ring and the cartridge element are separate parts.
Does one bottom housing really cover all four CS models?
Yes. R0462900 is listed as the bottom housing assembly across the CS100, CS150, CS200 and CS250. The top housings differ between the smaller and larger models, but the bottom is shared.
What should I replace at the same time?
The tank o-ring. The filter has to come apart to fit the housing, and a used o-ring rarely seals well against a new surface.
