Product details

Bio-Dex Aqua Pure, part number AP04, is a copper and quat algaecide sold in a one gallon jug. It is built for pools that have an algae problem now, not just a preventive dose.

Why the two chemistries

Copper is a proven algaecide and a quaternary compound attacks algae a different way. Putting both in one formula lets the product work across the common colors and forms of algae rather than being strong against one and weak against the rest. It is rated for problems ranging from a mild haze to a severe bloom, and it keeps working to stop the algae returning once the water clears.

The staining question

The usual objection to copper algaecide is staining. This formula is made to help prevent the copper staining that comes with other copper products, which is what separates it from a generic copper treatment.
