What a flocculant does
Ordinary clarifiers help the filter catch fine particles. A flocculant works differently: it binds heavy metals and suspended debris into clumps heavy enough to come out of suspension, which is why alum is reached for when water has gone cloudy and normal filtration has not fixed it.
What to expect
