What it does

Air collects at the top of a filter tank. It gets in during a clean, a backwash, a winterization or any time the system is opened, and it has to be let out before the filter will run properly. The air relief is the path it takes. Until the air is purged, the filter is running on a pocket of compressed air and the pressure gauge is reading something other than the true filter condition.

Fitment

This part is called out for the JS100-SM. The JS series is built in more than one size and the internal parts are not interchangeable across them, so check R0487600 against the parts list for your exact filter before ordering.

Why replace it
