Product details

This is the Jandy R0408700 center plate kit, the internal rebuild set for JVA valve actuators in the 2444 and 4424 styles. It is the genuine Jandy part.

What you get

The kit contains two o-rings, eight screws, a bridge, a clear top cam, a textured bottom cam, two microswitches, the center plate itself, a threaded output shaft and a spring. In other words, everything between the motor and the valve stem.

When to reach for it

Actuators rarely fail at the motor. They fail at the cams that define where the valve stops and at the microswitches those cams press. An actuator that overshoots, hunts back and forth, stops halfway or refuses to switch direction is usually telling you the cam edges are rounded or a switch has stopped making contact. Replacing the whole center plate assembly resets all of that at once, rather than chasing one worn piece at a time.

Before you order

Check which JVA style is on the valve, because Jandy uses different internals across the actuator range. The two cams are keyed differently by design, clear on top and textured underneath, so keep them the right way round on reassembly.
