This is the OEM replacement electrolytic cell for the CompuPool CPSC36 salt chlorinator, part JD363130D-COMPL. It arrives as a complete assembly with its housing, so the whole cell section of the system is replaced in one piece.
How the cell works
Inside the housing are two titanium anode plates coated in precious metal oxide and held apart by insulators. A reversing DC voltage is applied across them, and chlorine gas is produced from the salt already dissolved in the water. Reversing the polarity is what keeps calcium from plating onto the blades, so the cell needs no routine maintenance.
