Madimack InverTITAN Inverter Heat & Cool Pump 140K BTU, INVTIT140

The Madimack InverTITAN INVTIT140 is a 140,000 BTU inverter heat pump that both heats and cools a pool, running on 230V single phase at 60 Hz with a COP range of 14.6 down to 6.0.

Heating and cooling in one unit

Integrating both functions means the same equipment that brings the pool up in spring can take the edge off it in the height of summer. The unit is rated to keep working down to 14 F outside, so the heating season runs well past what an uninverted heat pump manages.

What the inverter does

A full stepless DC compressor modulates its output rather than switching on and off at full tilt. Paired with an electronic expansion valve that Madimack credits with a 20 percent higher COP, and a twisted titanium heat exchanger with roughly 40 percent more exchange area, the result is a unit that holds temperature at part load instead of hammering the electrical supply in bursts.

Noise and build

Soft start brings the unit up from zero amps, which Madimack rates as far quieter at startup. A twin rotary compressor, top discharge fans and the company sound suppression treatment keep running noise low. The casing is marine grade aluminium alloy, and reverse cycle defrosting detects frost during operation and switches over automatically.
