What it does
The strip sits at the water inlet on the underside of the chassis. It is flexible, so it stays in contact with the pool surface as the cleaner drives, and that contact is what keeps the suction path sealed. When the strip tears, curls or hardens with age, water and debris slip past instead of being drawn up into the filter, and the cleaner starts leaving dirt it used to collect.
