Product details
The Hayward GLX-FLO is the genuine replacement flow switch kit for Hayward AquaRite salt chlorine generators. It arrives with a 15 foot cable and a 2 inch PVC tee.
What the flow switch does
A salt system will not energize its cell unless it is told that water is moving through the plumbing. The flow switch supplies that signal. It is a safety interlock as much as a convenience, because a cell that fires with no water passing over the plates is a cell that damages itself.
Diagnosing it
A no flow message on a system whose pump is clearly running usually comes down to the switch or its cable, once a dirty filter, a closed valve and a low water level have been ruled out. Swapping in the OEM switch rules the sensor out with certainty. The kit includes the tee, so the switch can be plumbed straight into the return line without sourcing a separate fitting.
