Hayward GLX-DIY-ORING is the genuine replacement o-ring for the cell on the Salt and Swim salt chlorination system.

Where it fails

The o-ring at a chlorinator cell sits in hot water carrying the highest chlorine concentration anywhere in the plumbing. Over a few seasons it hardens, takes a set and eventually cracks. The first sign is a slow weep at the cell that owners often mistake for a cracked housing or a failed union.

Fit it with any cell service

Because the o-ring is disturbed every time the cell comes apart, it is worth having a new one on hand before cleaning or replacing a cell. An o-ring that has taken a permanent set will not always reseat once it has been unseated, and a new one costs a fraction of a return visit.
