The Hayward GLX-DIY-UNION is the replacement union kit for the Salt & Swim 3C Pro salt chlorination system. It is the genuine Hayward part.

What the unions do

The salt cell sits in the return plumbing on a pair of unions. Those unions are the reason the cell can be unthreaded for inspection, cleaning or replacement without cutting into the pipe. They are also the joint that gets worked the hardest, since every service visit means loosening and retightening them.

When to replace them

A union that weeps after the cell is reinstalled, a cracked union nut, or threads that no longer pull up tight are all signs the union has had enough. Fitting a fresh kit restores a clean, serviceable connection at the cell instead of chasing the drip with tape and sealant.
