Why the brush matters

A Dolphin does not clean by suction alone. The active brush is driven faster than the robot moves, so it scrubs the surface ahead of the intake and lifts the biofilm and fine dirt that suction on its own leaves behind. When the brush wears, the robot still drives its pattern and still filters water, but the surfaces it passes over stay slick.

Front or rear

This is the front brush. Look at both brushes before ordering, since they do not always wear at the same rate. A brush that has gone hard, flat and shiny instead of textured has lost its scrubbing edge and is due for replacement. Brushes are consumables on a robotic cleaner, so periodic replacement is expected rather than a sign of a fault.
