The SeaKlear AquaPill SolarPill is a liquid solar cover for pools up to 12000 gallons. It is a drop in pill rather than a sheet cover.

How it works

The pill releases an invisible, non-toxic and biodegradable film that spreads across the surface of the water. Most of the heat a pool loses overnight leaves with evaporating water, so a film that slows evaporation is also what slows the temperature drop. The same film means less water to top up.

Using it

It sits in the skimmer basket and the flow through the basket distributes it. There is no cover to drag off before a swim and nothing to store wet, which is the practical reason people use one on a pool that gets daily use.

Sizing

This one is rated for pools up to 12000 gallons and is described as safe for all pools. Calculate your volume before ordering, because a pill matched to a smaller body of water will not maintain a film across a bigger one.

How does a pill replace a solar cover?
It releases a very thin film that sits on the surface. That film slows evaporation, and since most of a pool heat loss goes out with evaporating water, slowing it is what keeps the temperature up.
Where does it go?
In the skimmer basket. Water passing through the basket carries the film out across the pool, so there is nothing to roll up or store.
What size pool does it cover?
Pools up to 12000 gallons. Work out your volume first, since an undersized pill in a larger pool will not hold a film.
Will I feel or see it in the water?
