The Taylor K-2009 is the Pool Inspector FAS-DPD test kit for chlorine. Taylor lists it as its California regulatory chlorine FAS-DPD kit.

Why FAS-DPD

FAS-DPD is a drop count titration. You add reagent a drop at a time and watch for a color change at the end point, then read the result from the number of drops. That is a very different exercise from holding a strip up to a chart, and it is the method used when chlorine has to be reported rather than estimated, including the separation of free chlorine from combined chlorine.

What is FAS-DPD and why does it matter?
It is a drop count titration for chlorine. Instead of matching a color to a block, you count drops to an end point, which gives a much finer reading than a strip or a comparator.
Does this kit test anything besides chlorine?
Taylor lists K-2009 as the chlorine FAS-DPD Pool Inspector kit. If you need a full water balance kit, look at Taylor complete kits instead.
