Why FAS-DPD
FAS-DPD is a drop count titration. You add reagent a drop at a time and watch for a color change at the end point, then read the result from the number of drops. That is a very different exercise from holding a strip up to a chart, and it is the method used when chlorine has to be reported rather than estimated, including the separation of free chlorine from combined chlorine.
