This is the universal replacement ballast for Delta Ultraviolet E and ES series ultraviolet sanitizer and clarifier systems, covering the 15, 20 and 40 sizes. It is rated for both 120 V and 230 V supply.

What the ballast does

A UV system treats water by passing it around a lamp inside a quartz sleeve. The ballast supplies and regulates the power that lamp needs. If the ballast fails, the lamp will not strike, water keeps flowing through an inert chamber, and the system quietly stops sanitizing while everything else looks normal.

One part across the range

Because it is a universal unit, the same ballast serves the E/ES-15, E/ES-20 and E/ES-40. That also means it is the part to order whichever of those three sizes is installed.
